In order to move a sample in a microanalytical system from one location to another, very small valves and pumps are desired to reduce dead volume and response time. Cbana Labs has developed a series of fast-acting, electrostatic microvalves that can work under high differential pressures. These valves have been processed through 47 million cycles without failure; this corresponds to more than five years of operation at 4 seconds GC sampling.

This valve was designed and developed as an integrated unit with the Preconcentrator for the Micro-GC, but Cbana Labs valve technology can also expand to applications that require high speed and operating pressure with minimal dead volume.
